Sometimes, I just have to have fun for myself. So I had Alisa join me at the beach, on one of the rare sunny days we’ve been having and just had fun!! The water was smokin hot, the sunshine was wonderful and the sunset pretty epic.

Woohoo! I was published on Enagaged…Now What? and I’m so excited!!! Once again, people can see how amazing Derick and Kelsey are together!!!

So in the past months, I’ve really gotten into bluegrass music. I think it’s me yearning for my southern roots, but either way, I have a small obsession currently. I even whipped out my dusty violin and brought it with me, igniting my old love of the instrument which has subsequently led me to begin practicing it again.
It was amazing all weekend! My friend Melanie came with me to camp out and I was so excited, since it’s on my 101 things to do in 1000 days list. So I borrowed a tent, packed donuts, books, bought a sleeping bag, packed 25 pairs of underwear like women do and remembered my sense of adventure!
It was amazing. Melanie is so much FUN to be with, her enthusiasm keeping my fear of the dark at bay. We did girl talk until around 1:30am and then tried to sleep through the people playing bluegrass until 3am. The music is wonderful but hollering 65 year old men is not haha but it was awesome to sleep outside, wake up to the birds and feel the breeze. I loved it. I want to go camping AGAIN.
The rest of the day was spent listening to music, taking pictures, learning a fiddle tune, watching bands play and reading. I loved just leaving life for a bit and doing something out of the norm. Now I know I love camping, so maybe I’ll do it a couple times a year!

This weekend I’m going camping for the first time, which I’m SUPER excited about! It’s for a Bluegrass festival, which is something I’ve really been getting into this month. I’ll be sure to post TONS of pictures from it, but that isn’t the point of this blog. The point is about something that inspired me years ago, when I was in NY. I went to a museum, just walking around and looking at art, when I saw her.
She transfixed me, her length, her seemingly still motion. Her body was entrancing, the way she seemed to celebrate, reaching for something while sharing at the same time. I sat down for an hour, taking pictures and just soaking it in. It was the first time a piece of art stirred true emotion within me and to this day, I don’t know why she in particular moved me. Every day I work out, I strive to have her toned arms, her sculpted thighs. This is is such a simple piece from Greecian times, but it’s amazing to me. Most people would have walked by her without a second glance, but she was the first piece of art that took my breath away. If I could have her in my kitchen, I would haha
That is what I’m searching for in May: inspiration. Things that move me forward, to help me grow. It’s going to be an insane month and I’m so very excited to share my work with you!!!
Have you ever found a piece of art that has moved you beyond words?

This is the just the CUTEST family ever! Nathanial is the most adorable little boy, in his quaint little hat and big eyes that seem to just stare into your soul. Okay, maybe he’s not that intense since he’s a toddler, but he was still load of fun!!!! We traveled around Laie, going to Pounders Beach and the point, which I’ve never brought a family to before. It’s stunning!!! Loved this whole morning!!!
